Willy Loman's wife. Calm, patient. I am seeking an actress to be my scene partner for my Preliminary Audition for membership in the prestigious Actors Studio. Note 1: You will not be considered for membership. Only I will be. Note 2: This is not for the MFA program - this is for the original, 78-year-old Actors Studio. Note 3: I will be directing the scene. You will be doing this for the invaluable experience of working emotionally and moment-to-moment on a strong, contemporary classic. And having your work seen by the Actors Studio judges is always worthwhile. This is a 5-minute scene from the play "Death of a Salesman" between Willie and his wife, Linda. As noted above, I am directing this scene, so only actresses who don't mind being directed by their scene partner need to apply. Of course, I very much welcome input from my scene partner but I do have very definite ideas about how this scene should play. Rehearsals twice/wk. (late afternoon) where I live in Midtown Manhattan, NY. After a few weeks I will rent a rehearsal Studio in Midtown Manhattan for us to rehearse in. The actual Preliminary Audition for the Actors Studio will be held on Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7, 2026 (btwn. 10 a.m.-5 pm each day) at the Actors Studio on 44th Street (btwn. 9th and 10th Ave.). I will be notified in a couple of weeks as to the exact day and time. As noted above, I will be directing the scene, so only actresses who don't mind being directed by their scene partner need to apply. If the scene passes the Preliminary Audition, we will proceed to the Final Auditions being held a couple of weeks later. In that case, I would want to rehearse with you two times each week for those additional two weeks until the Final Audition.
