The Black-Winged Figure
Abstract Music Video
About the Job
A second figure who appears across all three films, the inverse counterpart to the angel. What they are to each other is left open: witness, shadow, mirror, loss. Visually related to the angel but in darker tones, with large black wings as the opposite of the angel's white. The role is mysterious and largely silent. The black-winged figure observes, stands at a distance, holds objects of meaning (a dead bird, a place by the water), and occasionally shares the frame closely with the angel. In one film they are left behind as the angel rises; in another, they slowly disappear into fog; in the third, they stand beside the angel in a dying landscape.
