At one of the 2026 events, I was sat at a table next to a Hollywood ICON. A Hollywood ICON that 'looked like me'. We were actually the only two that looked like one another at the table which made it easy for us to strike a conversation. What happened next would change my life forever. All I wanted to talk about was him and his career but he wanted to know about me. How cool huh? After telling him of my journey he laid into me like a dad. He told me I was wasting my time having more than two conversations with potentials. He said if they do not make effort after that, move on. I told the icon how loyal and locked in I was naturally as a human. in a moment that mimicked rage, he said to me 'absolutely not'. Then he said a set of lines that I've said before, but hearing it from this deep icon sent chills up my spine... 'Why are you begging actors to make them a star? Why are you wasting your time trying to convince an actor to allow you to spend YOUR money and YOUR time in making them a success story? The minute you feel that there Is disbelief move on'. There were a lot more words in this convo that gave me inspiration. I did an interview at a film making school recently for the return from Spring Break students where I went deep into my convo with the icon and posted the transcript on my audition site for those that want to read his powerful messages. 'When the right actor comes along, you won't have to have uncertainly. They will understand your language immediately and you will understand theirs. Their commitment, hunger and work ethic will hit you in the face'. When I told him I was considering giving up that particular search altogether, he pointed in a raised voice 'don't you dare'. He asked me to look around the room and see the possibilities of what my vision can bring because these two young men went down that path. He left me with 'Elevate your search but this time, do not have more than two conversations. If you don't feel their commitment....next' Then he gave me his personal cell number and told me to call him anytime. I made friends with an icon... After the event, I was alone in my thoughts for three days. Things started to become clear. I was offering a unique journey./opportunity with hopes of changing lives. It wasn't that I wasn't worthy...it was just the landscape of the era and the instant success most sought. I want to create. I want to separate talent from the scores of actors who come out to LA seeking fame. I want to expose their uniqueness and take that to the top. The three days of thoughts changed my whole 2026. Beside the commitment, I didn't plan for anything new I simply started to follow the icons advice and elevate my search in a different way. I called my production company connections and started setting down the foundation for that elevated search..this project is day 1.... During the blitz U had conversations with so many. One sad, raging theme between them all is that TRUE loyalty is rare in this era of Hollywood. In the 90s I saw nothing but loyalty, commitment and work effort. Perhaps it was because there were no Internet instances bookings or speedy castings. We had to work hard to get things done therefore we cherished our friends and fellow entertainment seekers much more....
