A predatory filmmaker/acting instructor operating inside a cultural ecosystem that has rewarded his methods for decades. Martin is not coded as a stereotypical and one dimensional monster. He speaks the language of the industry fluently and genuinely seems to believe his own framing when he speaks to his naive students. He represents "everything wrong" with the entertainment industry in a very real way.
