We are looking for a young actor who carries the weight of his character not in grand gestures, but in what he holds back and cannot say. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Seasoned craft. Nuance and subtlety. Emotional depth — including the ability to cry. A natural, deep Southern accent. Authentic, unhurried, rooted. A beautiful voice. Resonant and distinct. A softness. Whether or not he’s tough on the exterior, There is a softness and openness to him — a gentleness — that makes him impossible to look away from. ELIGIBILITY Open to actors ages 16 – 22 who read authentically as 16. We are looking forward to seeing the best actors the South has to offer. This is an audacious script.
