Think Margot Martindale. STRONG Character Actor!! Juggles a million things at the diner all at once. Patty should be able to convey a slight panic, answer the phone, point at something burning, take orders...all at the same time, kind of like a chaotic move trying to keep it together, but just barely. Patty is the heart and engine of the place. She’s clearly the owner, doing everything! She moves fast, talks faster, and has the energy of someone who’s been “just about to take a break” for the last 15 years. Not comedic, she takes everything seriously, which is exactly why she’s funny. We are not making fun of Patty, we are making her the hero.
