Mia is a rising contemporary artist, the kind of talent that just has it, and has always had it. She enters the story as a victim, but exits as something far more complicated. This role requires an actor who can command a scene while physically compromised. Mia spends the majority of her screen time bound, concussed, and barely coherent, and yet she is still the sharpest person in the room. The ability to project intelligence and presence through extreme physical constraint is essential. When Mia finally does speak, every word has to land with weight. Her best moment in the film is two words long at the heat of the climax. This is a role that will be remembered despite limited dialogue. The right actor will understand that.
