About the Job
(LEAD, 18+ to play 16, Female, Japanese-American,/Japanese) KEIKO: An all-American, stubborn, fashion and music-obsessed teen of the 70s. Has a respectful, loving relationship with Nanami but doesn’t understand her mother's “fear” of the world. Is in love with her best friend, Arnold, and just wants to perform in the school talent show. She is strong-spirited, brave and fun. The type that lights up a room. She is the apple of her grandfather's eye. YOUNG NANAMI: 12ish Spirited, but quiet. She observes everything around her. She and her older brother Haruto are very close, and she looks up to him. Special skills: Can sing or at least carry a tune. Does not need to be Broadway-level. You will be asked to sing a little bit in your slate.
