About the Job

KEN — the younger brother. Arrives in a suit, nervous, rubbing his hands. Ken has been chosen by their father to take over the family business, and he's come to break the news to his older brother in person. He carries guilt about delivering a message that will hurt someone he loves — and deeper guilt about the fact that their father couldn't do it himself. Ken is restrained, anxious, and earnest. He's spent much of his life looking up to Phil and trying to earn his respect. The role requires the ability to convey discomfort and tenderness through physical behavior — fidgeting hands, averted eyes, small gestures of care. Must be comfortable with silence and reactive listening.
