About the Job
CURT: Male, late 20s-early 30s, any ethnicity. Curt is an everyman, relatable, grounded, good-natured and likable. He’s a normal guy doing his best to live a grown-up life, except he’s stuck dealing with an endlessly annoying “roommate” (a damaged car door). The situation is ridiculous, but Curt never plays it that way. He’s put-together but not polished. He has a good heart, but he also has just enough backbone to stand up for himself when he’s had enough. This role requires strong natural acting and subtle comic timing. He plays everything straight, allowing the comedy to come from the contrast between his sincerity and the absurdity of his situation.
