The pregnant queen and wife to King Raja Jasdhaval of the ancient city of Kannauj in the 9th Century. They make the pilgrimage to Nanda Devi shrine with their entourage. They are struck by a hailstorm and killed on their journey, near Roopkund Lake– it is said that it is punishment from the goddess Nanda Devi, for being disrespectful and boisterous on their journey.
