King of the ancient city of Kannauj in the 9th Century. He and his wife make the pilgrimage to Nanda Devi shrine with their entourage. They are struck by a hailstorm and killed on their journey, near Roopkund Lake– it is said that it is punishment from the goddess Nanda Devi, for being disrespectful and boisterous on their journey.
