About the Job
Natural US or Canadian accent (or exceptional US accent — must be effortless) Kit’s voice sits in that sweet spot just before a voice truly breaks. We are looking for a naturally youthful, higher-pitched voice with clarity and ease — not a dropped or mature teenage voice, and not an adult trying to “play young.” The voice should feel authentically 13, effortless and unforced, as if the actor is simply speaking in their natural register. Ever since he turned eleven, he’s grown taller, more handsome, more popular — and more successful at just about everything. Now that he and Norah are thirteen, he’s officially the king of their middle school. In fact, he’s almost too perfect. How can one person be so good at so much? How are there enough hours in the day? It’s almost like he’s getting some help… The one thing Kit isn’t nailing is being a brother. He’s completely unaware of his sister’s struggle, and blind to how much she needs support from the guy who used to be her best friend. Kit is not a villain — despite being sent to the villain camp. He is not a traditional hero — despite having the instincts of one. His journey is about discovering that belonging is not about labels, but about choice.
