A self-reliant young woman who longs to surrender control after a lifetime of responsibility, but in pursuit of reckless abandon, she is confronted with the most painful decision of her life. Ash grew up taking care of others and learned early on to rely on herself. Now unburdened by obligation and with nothing left to prove, she gives herself up to chance. She is solitary by nature, not lonely, comfortable in her own company, and uninterested in being understood. Though quiet and dissociative, she holds strong personal ethics and a keen ability to read people, deciding carefully whom to trust and whom to keep at a distance. She often seems in a daze, then snaps into focused engagement when interacting one-on-one. Inquisitive by nature, she communicates through questions, offering very little information about herself. Ash is drawn to Billy for his intelligence, sincerity, and peaceful nature. She sees straight through Iggy and is not afraid to defy him. Ash and Sage have a familial bond, although they are not related by blood. They take care of each other equally in the end, and they'd die for one another.
