About the Job
[LINCOLN] [LATE 60’S] [MALE] [BLACK] [CO-LEAD] Warm smile, eyes that always seem to be in on a private joke. He loves his daughter more than anything and is heart-broken over how his decline and subsequent passing has affected her. There’s a stubbornness in the way he moves – a quiet rebellion in his casual indulgence of burgers and soda, despite his illness. His tenderness holds both love and resignation. While the Father is warm and loving, we are also exploring a haunted quality—as if he exists between states. We’re especially interested in performances where expression feels unstable or unresolved. Ultimately he is a projection from the daughter and she’s struggling because she believes he’s not supposed to be dead. Therefore there will be moments where his expression isn’t quite clear or “settled”. Interested in seeing actual Father/Daughter duos as well.
