Carries herself with the unconscious privilege of someone who's never wanted for anything. Refined, educated bearing. Background: Senator's daughter from an old Roman family. Her father was secretly loyal to Aurelius's family and helped orchestrate the escape. He was later “disappeared, ” killed by the Domitii. Octavia has been raised in privilege, complicit in the system that benefits her, but is starting to wake up to the corruption around her. Fascinated by the games in an unhealthy way -- drawn to the violence, danger, and the gladiators themselves. Is being pressured to marry into the Domitii family. Motivation: Finish her father's work and clear his name. Drawn to the moral clarity of the arena vs. the corruption of Roman politics. Seeks purpose beyond being a political pawn. Arc: Must choose between comfort/safety and risk/resistance, confront her own complicity in the system.
