Physical: Classical Roman features -- short dark hair, growing a short beard to disguise himself, athletic build from military training rather than brute strength. Carries himself with unconscious nobility that's hard to hide. Has a distinctive scar from the assassination attempt/escape. Patrician nose, strong jawline, intelligent eyes. Weapon: Twin swords that connect at the pommel with a hidden mechanism -- his father's swords, the only thing he saved when he fled. They can be used as one double-bladed longsword or separated into dual blades. Imperial craftsmanship with possible family seal hidden on them. Background: A legitimate imperial heir, Aurelius was framed by the Domitii family for orchestrating a false assassination attempt on the Emperor three years ago. His family was purged and executed. The night before his own execution, he was helped to escape by Marcus Caelius (Lucilla's brother, a Praetorian Guard) and Darius (Althea's lover, his body slave). Both men were caught and executed. Aurelius has been in hiding ever since, presumed dead. He enrolled in Domina Lucilla's ludus under the name "Quintus," knowing it was connected to his rescuers. Motivation: Expose the Domitii conspiracy at the Grand Games, clear his name, and reclaim his throne. Arc: Struggles with survivor's guilt, trust issues, and the question of whether seeking justice or revenge. As he kills his way through the arena, he must confront what kind of ruler he'll become -- just or tyrannical.
