About the Job
Female, 50’s – 60’s - imagine the Head of M16 (British Intelligence Unit) Must have a UK accent - authentic is preferable but if talent is able to do a good, consistent accent we are open to that as well. DESCRIPTION: There will be two different reads of the script, with two different tones. The reads are straight to camera, as if you're talking on a Zoom or FaceTime call: Read One: Think Judy Dench as “M” in James Bond. A sharp, analytical mind. She is formidable, no nonsense, and intellectually intimidating. She projects an air of absolute, unshakeable authority. She is not easily impressed, intimidated, or amused. She is serious, and values her time. She doesn’t use three words when one will do. She’s not cold, but she is serious. She is speaking to one person whom she knows very well, and her message, if followed closely, is the only way to lead their team to success. Read Two: Think early on ‘Rebecca Welton’ from Ted Lasso. A team player, but if you get too comfortable has no problem reminding you who’s in charge. She is poised, wry, witty, and always in control, though she asserts her authority with a smile. She is confident and assertive, but her compassion and empathy are merely a means to manage people. She likes to be the boss. She is speaking to one person, a subordinate, whom she knows well and her message, if followed closely, is the only way to lead them to success.
