He is a man who followed the rules to survive, and he cannot comprehend why his son would risk everything for "nothing". Key Scene: The post-arrest confrontation. While the rest of the family weeps, Nandu is furious, screaming that they were "dragged out of the house like animals". He is broken by the shame brought upon his name.
