About the Job

Your part is focused on a phone conversation with Aiysha, we are focused on your voice, and your face will not be seen. Looking for a male actor OR voice actor who can play a 60 year old white man. Can have a midwestern accent but not required. Voice actors must be willing to work on set remotely over the phone if not local. Character Background: John Levinsky grew up in Ohio in a working-class family. His father died of a heart attack when he was 12, and his mother supported their three children by working in a grocery store. Despite having a working mother, he has very traditional ways of thinking, especially when it comes to gender roles. Although he is not conservative (he was heavily involved in the hippie movement), he grew up in a traditional, all-white community during the 1950s and comes from that core mindset and culture. After he graduated with a teaching credential, he left for California without telling his family. He was obsessed with the Beatles and hippie culture, and moved to California to live that lifestyle. He is very antisocial and has few friends. He is reclusive and never contacts his family in Ohio. He is stubborn in his ways, never believed in cell phones, and never got an answering machine, so he is unreachable. And does not make an effort to reach out to anyone. He is easily angered and cuts people off quickly. John's character is manipulative; his voicemail to Aiysha is sympathetic and understanding, but when he gets the chance to speak with her, he is vindictive and blames her for everything, even though the last time he saw her was when she was 10 years old. He only talks about himself, not asking about her. He feels wronged by his daughter because she chose not to see him anymore. He wants to start a relationship with his daughter without considering her feelings, and only thinks for himself.
