About the Job
Mr Prior (seen in a photo and flashback age mid-30s) Daniel and Miles' father, Ruth’s husband. Mr Prior's accident and absence haunts the family, and he is often the reason for conflict between Ruth and Danny especially. What we see of Mr Prior is a haunted and depressed Irish immigrant who is unhappy in his marriage and his new home on the other side of the world. He is emotionally withdrawn from his family long before a drunken car accident that ultimately takes him away from them.
