About the Job
Simply put, Jesus is a young Black man from New York City who believes he is, in fact, Jesus Christ. Whether he truly is who he claims to be—or a man consumed by a powerful delusion—is left for the audience to decide. Jesus is deeply committed to living out this belief: serving others, offering guidance, and trying to “save” those he sees as lost. Though ridiculed and dismissed by many around him, he remains calm, grounded, and unshaken in his faith. The film reveals little about his past; the story is about his presence—his charisma, kindness, and mystery. PLEASE NOTE: "The Man," as referred to in the script, is the SAME character as "Jesus." Please note that you will be reading both lines for "The Man" and "Jesus" because they are the same character.
