About the Job
This character is written as a Lebanese-Australian man, however we are open to actors from similar or neighbouring cultural backgrounds. Bedig’s been moulded by his old man, in silence, in work, and in duty. He was the closest to him and it shows: the routine, the business, the weight. But now his dad’s dead, and Bedig is left with a life he didn’t choose. He’s trying to step out of his dad’s shadow, but doesn’t know who he is without it. He’s not quick to speak, especially not about feelings, but he’s doing his best. Pot makes him flippant. Anger makes him dangerous.
