About the Job

A confident, sharp-tongued local DJ and producer who runs the recording studio next door to the Avetts. Beatroot takes her craft seriously and has little patience for chaos, noise, or amateurism — all of which seem to follow the band and puppets everywhere they go. Initially irritated and dismissive of the Homegroan crew’s unpredictable energy, she becomes reluctantly pulled into their world when circumstances force a collaboration neither side wants. Underneath her cool, no-nonsense exterior is someone deeply passionate about music and authenticity, and over the course of the episode, her frustration slowly gives way to unexpected respect — and eventually genuine connection. Strong comedic timing, deadpan delivery, and improvisational instincts are a plus. Music/DJ experience or comfort around studio equipment is helpful but not required.
