Be a Part of This Feature Film!
Lights, camera, action! This feature film is now casting talent.
Role being cast:
- Joanna Baca: Woman. Latinx/Hispanic. Ages 16-18. Joanna is naturally a rule-follower but has recently begun testing her limits. Unable to process her mother’s death, she seeks escape in rebellion; ditching school, drinking, and spending more time with her bold new friend Adriana. Joanna is awkward, introspective, and searching for identity, caught between childhood innocence and adult responsibility. When tragedy strikes, she’s torn between loyalty to her family and the truth that could destroy them and must learn how to listen to her own moral compass and intuition.
- Ray Baca: Man. Hispanic/Latino. Ages 42-52. Ray is Joanna and Ricky’s widowed father and is hardworking, emotionally distant, and quietly grieving. His inability to connect with his children stems from exhaustion and fear of further loss. While he means well, his strictness only deepens their isolation. Ray is doing his best. CAMEO.
- Ricardo ‘Ricky’ Baca: Man. Latinx/Hispanic. Age 21. Ricky is Joanna’s older brother and is impulsive, confident, and often misunderstood. Beneath his tough exterior lies a sensitive young man struggling with grief and shame. Once the ‘problem child,’ Ricky’s recklessness masks an inability to process loss. He loves his sister deeply, but his misguided impulsive decisions pull them both into moral and emotional chaos. LEAD.
- Adriana Perez: Woman. Black. Ages 16-18. Hispanic/Latina. Adriana, an untapped and unfocused creative mind, is fiercely loyal, bold, and unpredictable. Her charisma makes her magnetic, but her loyalty sometimes veers into manipulation. She hides her insecurity behind defiance and bravado. Expelled for fighting and homeschooled by an enabling family, she thrives in dysfunction. Adriana draws Joanna into a world of rebellion, unaware of how much damage that loyalty can cause. LEAD.
- Nina Jones: Woman. Black. Ages 16-18. Nina is Joanna’s former best friend, grounded, intelligent, and emotionally perceptive. She’s the ‘all-American’ teen who seems to have her life in order but carries quiet strength beneath her composure. As Joanna spirals, Nina remains a reminder of stability and integrity. She still cares deeply, but she’s learning to protect her own peace. SUPPORTING.
- Lola Perez: Woman. Latinx/Hispanic. Ages 17-18. Lola is Adriana’s older sister and Angelo’s girlfriend. She’s confident, magnetic, and unapologetically bold. She’s focused on enjoying life and standing by her man no matter what. A natural leader with an intimidating presence, Lola doesn’t shy away from conflict; she’ll fight for what she believes in and protect what’s hers with unwavering loyalty. SUPPORTING.
- Tyler Reyes: Man. White, Latinx/Hispanic. Ages 17-18. Tyler is kind, playful, and optimistic. He’s a skater kid with charm and a hopeful outlook on life. His flirtation with Joanna offers her a glimpse of lightness and possibility. His accidental death becomes the catalyst that fractures Joanna’s world and exposes the moral and emotional tensions beneath small-town life. SUPPORTING.
- Angelo: Man. Latinx/Hispanic. Age 20. Angelo is Lola’s boyfriend and is protective, easygoing, and deeply loyal. He presents himself as confident but struggles with direction and self-worth. He avoids conflict through humor and distraction, but when tragedy hits, his ‘ride-or-die’ loyalty clouds his judgment. SUPPORTING.
- Andrew: Man. Any ethnic appearance. Ages 16-18. Andrew is Tyler’s best friend and is thoughtful, reserved, and bookish. Often overlooked, he moves through high school as an observer rather than a participant. The loss of Tyler devastates him, pushing him to seek truth and accountability when others stay silent. His quiet persistence becomes a moral challenge for Joanna. SUPPORTING.
