About the Job
The Girl is the lead character. At age 7, she is a happy and sociable little girl. We meet her when her 7th birthday party is in full swing, and she's laughing and playing games and opening gifts. Dimly, she is aware of something - a feeling or a presence demanding her attention. But for the most part, she's too busy having fun with her friends to pay it any heed. Later that evening, we see she has just started to become aware of the doll hidden in her cupboard. But she doesn't invest it with any meaning and significance. And because she doesN't invest in it, t doesn't exert any real power over her.
