The Sheriff is a no-nonsense lawman who arrives during the wage-strike chaos. At first he appears ready to treat Mark like any other suspect, but once he recognizes who Mark really is, he immediately corrects his officers, orders the cuffs off, and addresses Mark with professional respect. He then calmly announces the embezzlement evidence against Jamie and orders his arrest, acting as the formal hand of the law in Mark’s favor.
