A 15 to 16 year old Mexican-American girl from the quiet town of Oremwood. Her life has been ordinary — school, sports, and birdwatching with her dad—until his death from cancer a year ago shattered that normalcy. Forced to grow up quickly, she’s emotionally adrift, unable to truly grieve or move on. But when she accidentally awakens strange powers while standing up to a bully, she draws the attention of a dangerous cult and she soon finds out her life will never be the same.
