About the Job

BOSS – Character Description Age: Late 50s to early 60s Build: Slightly hunched but imposing when close; not physically large, but takes up space Energy: Oblivious confidence The Boss is a seasoned, talkative man who mistakes familiarity for warmth and authority for charm. He believes he’s being generous with his time, unaware that his presence overwhelms the people around him. He speaks in half-finished thoughts, business platitudes, and unsolicited advice, often cutting others off mid-sentence—not out of cruelty, but habit. He has no sense of personal space. When he talks, he leans in. When he gestures, it’s too close. When he sneezes, he barely acknowledges it before moving on. His self-assurance makes him blind to discomfort, and his politeness is purely performative. Wardrobe: • Neutral-toned jacket or coat • Button-down shirt, slightly loose • Looks put-together but lived-in, like he’s worn the same style for years • Always adjusting his coat, cuffs, or collar while talking Behavioral Ticks: • Sneezes into his hands without thinking • Keeps talking through interruptions • Reaches for handshakes automatically • Hands people things (cigarette, coat) without asking
