Wirey and gaunt, Marques has been living on the streets of New York for the past few months. Running away from his father’s struggles with mental health, he busks in the park to gather enough money to buy the old man’s medication. But even as a trumpet virtuoso, he only earns so much busking in the park. He wasn’t brought up speaking Spanish, but he understands enough to nod and answer in English.
