About the Job

You’ll be considered and auditioning for both the employee and customer. See exact rates / usage above - they are different for employees and customers. We are casting 2 Male Employees (Jack and Nigel) Overall Vibe: Approachable experts. They know everything about batteries and device power, but they never feel dismissive or superior. They are genuinely excited to help, slightly nerdy in a charming way, and the kind of people who would make their own props to celebrate batteries. The humor comes from their sincerity and commitment, not from playing “characters.” Performance: Must have comedic range. They start with contained, professional enthusiasm so they don’t scare customers off, then they let their passion and nerdiness shine through as the script unfolds. They should be able to show subtle passion and excitement for batteries without going broad or over-the-top, then fully commit to big celebration when called for. We are casting 3 male customers. “Fisherman” Man 30-60 years old. Outdoorsy and believable. Accent, if any, should be extremely light. A subtle hint of Southern or Midwestern can work, but it should never feel like a “character accent.” Friendly, practical, and increasingly sold as he gets helped. Strong continuity in reactions across stages. “Costumes” Man 30-50 years old. Household organizer energy, executor of the ‘honey-do’ list. Expresses a mild overwhelmed feeling at carrying an armful of old batteries and dead devices. Relieved to find a place that recycles batteries, and pleasantly surprised to learn they repair devices too, including a broken phone screen. Grounded and amused, not thrown by costumes or celebration. “Pinata” Man 40-55 years old. Construction or field background but now management. Workwear that still reads hands-on. Five-o’clock shadow or beard encouraged. Capable, decisive, used to responsibility. Slightly amused by the employees’ enthusiasm and remains the calm anchor in the scene.
