Shortly after getting divorced, Layla, meets, Peter. She is smitten right away. They hit it off and start casually dating. Within a few months, they move in together. Everything seems fine at first but after a petty argument, Layla sees the darker side of Peter for the first time...and it won't be the last. Layla finds herself in an abusive relationship. With no end to the abuse in sight, Layla's trapped. Luckily, Peter is arrested for a parole violation and Layla gets a new lease on life. Although Peter gets locked up for a significant amount of time, Layla constantly looks over her shoulder, never forgetting what she went through.
