Jazz is a charismatic man who looks like he’s been through hell, yet still carries traces of former professionalism. He has long, unkempt hair, hasn’t shaved in weeks, and wears dirty dress clothes with a tie wrapped around his head. Personality/Traits: Erratic, eccentric, and unpredictable. He swings between manic desperation and goofy charm, hollering at the ocean one moment, then giddily celebrating Taco Bell the next. Though he appears tragic at first, Jazz’s true nature is absurd and comedic, almost childlike in his hunger and excitement. Acting Notes: Looking for an actor with strong physical comedy skills and the ability to play with tone shifts balancing moments of genuine pathos (loneliness, despair) with over-the-top comedic energy. Think someone who can sell both the intensity of a castaway firing his last flare and the ridiculous joy of finding fast food on the beach.
