About the Job
Hamed (20s–30s), Persian. An undocumented Iranian who came to the U.S. in search of a better life, Hamed falls deeply in love with Masha. Torn between his love for her and the weight of his own circumstances, he struggles with whether to let her go so she can build a future with more security or to stay because their bond feels undeniable. Hamed is a sensitive soul, a man who writes poetry, yet he carries the cultural expectations of an older generation: the belief that a man must provide and protect. This tension defines him, tender and open, yet burdened by tradition and fear. Actor should have a genuine Iranian accent./ Must embody quiet strength with emotional openness./ Should feel grounded and authentic, capable of expressing deep hurt without resorting to anger.
