About the Job
40-50, circa 1750. Lenape (Unami clan). Must have long hair. Weathered, expressive face; fit or solid build from years of travel and leadership. Long dark hair preferred (can be wigged); period-appropriate look required. A powerful, charismatic leader carrying the weight of his people’s displacement. He is a skilled orator, mediator, and strategist, often balancing diplomacy with simmering frustration over broken promises. The production is prioritizing authentic representation and encourages submissions from Indigenous and Native performers, especially those with connections to Lenape or Northeastern Woodland Nations. Must be comfortable on camera, able to embody presence and emotion without dialogue; prior acting or reenactment experience a plus but not required. Wardrobe will be provided. Actors may be asked to participate in movement-based scenes or outdoor walking. Local hire only; must be able to self-report to set in Delaware County, PA. No audio or dialogue will be recorded, but emotional range and physical storytelling are essential.
