When crafting such a key and hopefully powerful role for an actor, if you are a visionary you cant help but think about the expansion possibility of the talent leading one of your roles. In this era, so many filmmakers do one and done. In my opinion, they are wasting a key momentum that can continue to gain steam. But you rarely find a filmmaker of today trying to build. This is exactly what Ryan Coogler and Michael B did starting with Fruitvale Station. After they created buzz with that award winning project, they didn't separate. Ryan Called Eddie Murphy and Sylvester Stallone pitching a new project for his muse. Eddie turned Coogler down but Sly accepted Creed. The rest is history. Whomever i cast in this carefully crafted roll, I hope I am able to one day 'call Sly Stallone and Eddie Murphy' and offer a personalized pitch in their name...
