About the Job

A gentle, intelligent man in his early 20s who wants to deepen his relationship with his father, whom he loves dearly, yet feels uneasy around. Billy is intuitive, patient, and creative; all traits that his father only partially recognizes. Growing up with an inconsistent parent taught Billy to be cautious, introverted, and slightly self-effacing, often taking responsibility for other people’s emotional volatility. He escapes inward, drawn to music and fantasy, aspiring to be tougher and more confident than he feels. Though he deeply loves his father, he harbors resentment for him that he can’t yet admit to. He is physically imposing like his father, but he takes up little space, often hunched slightly, his hands in his pockets and his gaze lowered. Looking for an actor with longer hair (past the chin if possible), who can convey the nuances of a young man who is still finding his voice while also holding a deep well of inner strength and insight.
