About the Job
Bezunesh Bekele is a freshman medical student at the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota. She was born in Ethiopia but raised in Los Angeles by her father and mother. She has no siblings or any other family. She no longer speaks Amharic because her parents only spoke to her in English, so she and they could improve their English together. She did not grow up around other Ethiopian kids and often feels like an outsider in her own community in Minnesota and Los Angeles. She doesn’t have any close friends and, on occasion, suffers from mild panic attacks. Her mother is currently in psychiatric care and she doesn’t like to talk to her on the phone, unlike her Dad, because she finds it too emotionally draining. She is otherwise an exemplary student but finds little pleasure in her studies. She hopes to one day find purpose at college. We hear her on a phone call with her father. *Familiarity with Amharic a plus, but not required.* VOICEOVER, works approx. 1 day. Deferred pay.
