The character of Ana must be portrayed by an actual survivor of breast cancer who has had a double mastectomy without reconstruction.

The character's backstory: Ana is retired from her job as manager of a local business and is living her life as the matriarch of the family. She prioritizes time with family and friends, finding gratitude in the everyday. For example, Sunday night dinners with her husband, children and grandchildren, to local events in her community with friends.
