About the Job
Amara
Untitled Surf Cult Project (formerly Red Bluff)
About the Job
Character is portrayed as Female, 19, any race/ethnicity. Amara (Jude) grew up in a small, conservative Australian town. Her problems began after she started seeing a guy from school. He was more experienced, whereas it was Jude’s first proper relationship. After a few weeks of dating, he started asking her if he could film them having sex. Desperate not to disappoint him and believing it was what everyone was doing, Jude did what he asked. The boy sent it to his mate, and the video ended up online where everyone at her school watched it and shared it until it went beyond the school and – felt to Jude – to everyone in the whole town. Jude was devastated and didn’t know who to turn to. Her mother and father were so embarrassed, they made Jude feel even more deeply ashamed. Eventually, deciding that if everyone saw her in a certain way that must be who she was, she started sleeping around. Her mum grew more distressed, and their relationship completely broke down. After six months of endless screaming matches, Jude finally walked out, which is how she found the commune. Her introduction to the gang — their openness, their lack of judgement — was revelatory. Even more so was meeting Astrid, the confident, outspoken Polish girl who, to her surprise, fell for her. Surf experience a plus. Must be able to swim and be comfortable in open water. LGBTQIA+ performers encouraged to submit. Please advise if your actor is under option/contract to another network, that will require a release to shoot RED BLUFF. This role may require surf camp rehearsal period, late 2025-early 2026 - exact dates tbc. Preferencing WA based actors - we will accept submissions Aust wide for this role THIS ROLE IS REQUIRED ACROSS THE SHOOT PERIOD - JAN-JUNE
