CASTING CALL: MUSICA (LEAD) — “GLOW” SHORT FILM TRILOGY (BAY AREA) Project: GLOW — a cinematic mixtape universe (3 short narrative films + music videos/skits) Format: Independent short film trilogy (3–5 min each short) Location: Bay Area (primarily East Bay / SF) Shoot Window: Late April - Early May ABOUT THE PROJECT GLOW is a love letter to hip-hop, jazz, and blues; built around the rollout of a Bay Area artist's debut mixtape. The trilogy follows an artist learning to take a leap of faith: releasing his work, embracing vulnerability, and finding confidence from within. The films are surreal in a grounded way: stage-like wides, dreamlike location “teleports,” and a visual motif where emotional truth becomes literal light. ROLE: MUSICA (LEAD / ROMANTIC-ALLEGORICAL PARTNER) Seeking: Black or Afro-Latina woman, 20s–30s (open to range if the fit is right). Musica is magnetic: bubbly, playful, emotionally intelligent, and quietly powerful. She’s a warm presence with edge: funny, flirty, and deeply attentive. She carries symbolic weight in the story (without being a fantasy caricature) and the camera loves her. Acting style: Naturalistic dialogue, grounded presence, strong nonverbal storytelling. This role asks for subtle emotional turns: playful teasing → sincerity → emotional intimacy → mythic stillness. Chemistry and presence matter more than résumé.
