Logline: Despite growing up in poverty, a tenacious young boy tackles impossible odds on and off the field to chase his dream of becoming a championship quarterback. Summary: Perpetual outsider Stevie Jensen is used to being the "new kid," but his latest move to a tattered trailer park in Belmont feels like a dead end - until he meets Joel. As the high school’s star quarterback, Joel sees potential where others see a burden, ushering Stevie onto the local eighth-grade team and teaching him essential aspects of the game - and life. However, the dream quickly fractures. As his mother’s resentment toward their circumstances grows and a ruthless rival targets him on the field, Stevie’s world is upended by Joel’s sudden departure. But through it all, Stevie perseveres until destiny stares him square in the face. Without his mentor to guide him, Stevie must decide if he’s just a kid in a trailer park or the leader his team never knew they needed.
