Synopsis:

Behind the Curtain, is an office comedy about a matchmaking service presented by Known, launching in February, produced by American Picture Company. Founded by John Hammond and Ari Cagan, American Picture Company is a studio creating scripted stories built for the internet. Its first series, The Ick, has become one of the most engaged scripted audiences on social platforms.

Usage: 1-3 minute long episodes that will play and exist on Known’s social media platform Pay: $400+10 % per shoot day + $50 per 1hr. Virtual table read Auditions: Self Tapes (after selected from submissions) due Jan 16th Callbacks: Virtual, Sun Jan 18 Rehearsal: Virtual Table Read on Zoom, Jan 21st and 22nd. 1hr. Long each ($50 / per day) CAROL & SOLOMON needed for both virtual table reads. LOVE LANGUAGE EXPERT only needed for 1 virtual table read. Fitting: Jan 24th (1hr. $50, in downtown Manhattan) Shoot Dates: Jan 26 - 30th Shoot Location: Downtown Manhattan, NY IMPORTANT: All talent MUST be an NYC local hire and avail the shoot dates in order to be considered.  Ari Cagan is a producer and director behind some of social media’s most widely viewed narrative series. He was formerly the Head of Production at Gymnasium, where he oversaw the development of social-native shows including Keep the Meter Running and Boy Room. Ari co-created Cobell Energy, produced by Adam McKay, and has achieved viral success with multiple projects across digital platforms, including his personal YouTube channel.

 Writer: Molly Clark Molly Clark is a New York–based LGBTQ+ comedic writer and actor, and a graduate of NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Stonestreet Studios, and Upright Citizens Brigade. Her feature film The Retreat was optioned by Big Beach (Little Miss Sunshine, The Farewell) and is currently in active development. Her short film This Blows premiered at Just For Laughs Montréal in 2025, where it won the Audience Award, and is continuing its festival run with selections at Calgary International Film Festival, BendFilm Festival, St. Louis International Film Festival, and Cucalorus Film Festival. Molly’s work has been featured in The New York Times, BuzzFeed, and WhoHaha, and she has amassed millions of views across her social platforms. Her writing blends sharp comedy with emotional specificity, often centering on identity, relationships, and the quiet absurdities of modern life.

 Writer: Chris Reinacher
 Chris Reinacher is an multi-hyphenate comedian, filmmaker, writer, and digital creator. His scripted and unscripted videos have over 300 Million Views online. Chris is an original member of BuzzFeed Video, where he produced weekly viral content for the first three years of the company’s growth. His short films have been screened at Sundance and Cannes, and his YouTube channel has 480,000+ subscribers. His new podcast, Wine & Weed has over 500,000 streams in it’s first ten weeks and has already interviewed Michael B. Jordan, Machine Gun Kelly and Quinta Brunson. Last year, he signed a deal to make a sketch comedy show with Sterling Brim for IFC. He has performed as an actor on NBC’s Superstore, FOX’s The Mindy Project, Adult Swim, Comedy Central digital and lead the series Teenage Mountain Lion on Hulu.
