Athletic Granddaughter - Comedy
Collegiate Athletic Conference Campaign
About the Job
Character: 18-24 yr old college age, from California. Played lacrosse at one of the most storied programs in the country, so she knows what it feels like to be part of something with real weight behind it. Graduated with honors. Physical: Contemporary, confident, naturally stylish. Her relationship to sports should come through in small details rather than feeling like a costume: sports gear mixed naturally into her own style. She should feel like someone you’d actually see on a college campus, at a game, or grabbing coffee with friends. Voice: Bright, quick, expressive, and completely comfortable. She talks to her grandparents like someone who genuinely likes them, but she’s not afraid to challenge them, tease them, or remind them when they’re being ridiculous. When the game gets going, all composure disappears. Her excitement should feel spontaneous and contagious; the kind of person you can hear yelling “GOAL!” before you even know what happened. Performance Notes: Naturalism first. Never play “the young person” or push for comedy. Her humor comes from familiarity, confidence, and the generational contrast with Mr. and Mrs. ACC. She can go from casually scrolling her phone to completely losing it over a play in half a second. Most importantly, there should be real affection underneath the teasing. We need to believe she has spent her entire life in this family and genuinely loves being part of it. Reference Energy: The cool granddaughter who actually wants to hang out with her grandparents. Modern, quick, culturally fluent, competitive, and expressive — carrying the family tradition forward without ever feeling like she's simply imitating the generation before her.
