Rosa - Minor (5-8)
About the Job
Young Norma. After accidentally breaking her mother's jar of candy, Norma stands frightened and ashamed, expecting punishment. Instead, Rosa gives her a piece of candy and pulls her into an embrace. Later, as Rosa's memories collapse, Young Norma reaches desperately toward her mother wanting to be held while Rosa backs away in fear. When Rosa finally remembers, she rushes back to her daughter and embraces her. Young Norma must communicate fear, guilt, confusion, vulnerability and unconditional trust in her mother almost entirely through body language and expression. Looking for: A naturally expressive child actor who can take simple direction without appearing overly rehearsed or "performative."
