About the Job
Adrian is the most emotionally conflicted character in Ripple. At first glance, he appears to have won at life—wealth, intelligence, influence, sophistication, and unlimited opportunity. But Adrian’s greatest tragedy is that he has spent his entire life earning everything except the one thing he has always wanted: His father’s unconditional love. Unlike Mike, who believes money will solve his problems, Adrian already possesses enormous wealth. His conflict is psychological rather than financial. He desperately seeks validation through perfection, status, and control because he was taught from childhood that love must be earned.
