Synopsis

Seeking an actress to be my scene partner for a Preliminary Audition for membership in the prestigious Actors Studio. Union or Non-Union. Please live in New York City. This is a 5-minute scene from the play "Death of a Salesman" between Willy and his wife, Linda. Note 1: Although you would not be considered for membership at this time - only I would be considered- this will be the very valuable experience of working emotionally and moment-to-moment on a strong, contemporary classic. And having your work seen by the Actors Studio judges is very worthwhile. Sometimes they call back scene partners even though that scene partner was not being considered originally. Note 2: This is not for the MFA program - this is for the original, 78-year-old Actors Studio. Note 3: I'll be directing the scene.

Additional Information: We will be performing our audition scene for the Actors Studio live, memorized, on the stage of the theater of the Actors Studio, with the judges in the audience, unseen by us. This Preliminary Audition for the Actors Studio will be held on a Saturday or Sunday in mid to late October or early November, 2026, between 10am and 6pm at the Actors Studio on West 44th Street in Manhattan. In person rehearsals starting around mid-August, in Midtown Manhattan.
