Thomas is serving time in federal prison for financial crimes, convinced he did it out of love, not greed. Charming but defensive, he deflects blame and pushes his girlfriend Anna toward one more risky scheme to fix things. Over the course of the scene, his composure breaks down and anger gives way to vulnerability. Looking for: An actor who can handle heavy dramatic material and shift convincingly between control, defensiveness, and emotional collapse.
