About the Job
Our actress should be able to convey someone who feels completely confident online, but a little unsure of herself in real life. In the gaming world, Ruby is loud, funny, chaotic, and part of the crew. But when the idea of actually showing up enters the picture, we see the nerves kick in. She should have a natural awkwardness that feels honest, not overly shy or sitcom-y. Ruby isn’t a loner. She has friends. She wants to be there. She’s just carrying that very real fear of being different in person than she is through a headset. By the end, we should feel her start to relax into herself. She gets louder, messier, braver, and more present with each moment in the park. She doesn’t become the “cool girl.” She becomes Ruby, just fully there.
