“GHOST COYOTE” Short Film LMU Student Thesis Film SHOOT DATES: October (Shooting within the last 2 weeks of October. Dates TBD.) SHOOT LOCATION: Vasquez Rocks (Santa Clarita Area) RATES: PRINCIPAL TALENT RATE: $300 + 20% (if applicable) per 12 hour shoot day. SUPPORTING TALENT RATE: $150 + 20% (if applicable) per 6 hour shoot day. LOGLINE: A suicidal park ranger and former combat medic finds an unexpected source of renewed purpose when he risks everything to protect an injured runaway fleeing through the unforgiving yet beautiful American borderlands. SYNOPSIS: On the brink of committing suicide, combat medic turned park rangerDuncan Ainsley discovers Catalina Vidal, a critically injured undocumentedrunaway navigating the unforgiving American borderlands. Duncan recalls his training and fights to stabilize Catalina, while her deep mistrust of authority forces the two strangers into a tense alliance. When a Border Patrol Agent closes in, Duncan must choose between following the law or protecting the woman who unexpectedly gave him a reason to live. Through their shared journey and trauma, both discover that hope can take route in the most desolate of places.
